Beat It ( The Monday Blues)

Ridiculous Monday was Monday 20th  February 2017.
You all know why?
Of course you don't, or maybe you have a little idea..
But let me tell you.

So you all know Monday is the first day of the work-week, for most.
And the aim is to be productive-to set the pace for the rest of the week and all that good stuff.

Picture this:
Bright and early Monday morning you at your desk by eight  (8) am and you are well aware that it is Carnival Season but  you are focused...right?
Productivity is a must!

Then at 11:00 am you get a call from your friend from school and the conversation goes as follows:
"Hi hun, how you doing?
I just went 96 and purchase my Machel Monday ticket. Let we go na?
In the same breath :
If you going you could come down with my cousin she lives up on your side
Plus, you could put it in the blog" (for Internet Marketing)

My good friends,
That there is strategy..
Dynamics of Strategy did not go to waste at all.. School of Accounting and Management working for you in your daily lives..changed agents we are!

Anyway, you respond by saying :
" But where I getting tickets at this hour?"
" Don't worry, I will call and find out for you"

But you are telling  yourself that this is too last minute while you are putting down the phone.
So you go back to being productive.
Not even five (5) minutes gone and you are thinking of all the good memories of previous Machel Mondays...like a proper tabanca.
THEN, it becomes abundantly clear that you need (not want ) to go.
I mean you could literally list all the reasons why it is in your best interest to go.
No rash decisions here. we weighing the pros and cons 🤣

By twelve(12), after all necessary arrangements are made, ticket in hand and you message your friend "I inside"
You walking around the office with a renewed energy that you can't hide.

Fast forward...
You reach the Hasley Crawford Stadium and  all of a sudden you advertising for Colgate
Scanning the crowd you can't help but sing:
Wow, look at people..............
You make me wannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnaaaaa......jump! (Rupee)
People to the 1000th power (People ¹⁰⁰⁰⁾

From a distance the crowd just looking like Wild Ants.

Anyways, music playing and then the ten (10) minute countdown begins
The clock reaches the ten (10) second marker and the crowd counting down as if we waiting for New Years (making your First Year primary school teacher proud. Thanks Mrs. Hamilton)
Rel Hype!
Then nothing happened 😑 (level crickets in the background chirping)
Your crew start convincing each other that this is part of the hype😉
No joke here Machel, that was Ridiculous and not in a good way .hmph!

When the show finally started..pure vibes,  hype, excitement and energy!
There were moments where you wanted to go for something to drink but you didn't want to miss a thing..
It was as though Machel was the aerobics instructor
And the crowd..........the participants
And like any good aerobics class you would  only feel the "burn" after the class is over and you settled down.
But then again, who wouldn't mind being instructed by Machel and his clan?
